About Junior Dash

Big Kem Junior Dash is a children’s running event designed to encourage an active lifestyle, physical fitness and participation in sports among young children. The event will provide a safe, enjoyable and well-organised platform for children to experience running activities while promoting the importance of health, confidence, family participation and sportsmanship.

Junior Dash Category

Big Kem Junior Dash is designed to inspire children aged 0 to 13 to get active, have fun and discover the joy of running. Children aged 0–9 will take part in a fun, non-competitive format focused on participation and confidence. Participants aged 10–11 and 12–13 will take on a two-loop competitive run, introducing them to the excitement of organised racing in an age-appropriate format. Every runner gets their moment to shine!

Event Day Timeline

Get ready for a fun-filled morning of running, cheering and celebrating! Participants are encouraged to arrive early for attendance and registration before their respective races begin.

Participants check in, confirm their attendance and get ready for the day’s activities.

Competitive Run: Category 12–13 Years Old

Participants aged 12–13 take on two (2) loops in the competitive category.
9:30 AM

Competitive Run: Category 10–11 Years Old

Participants aged 10–11 take on two (2) loops in the competitive category.

Non-Competitive Run: Category 0–3 Years Old

Our youngest runners enjoy one (1) loop in a non-competitive and family-friendly format.

Non-Competitive Run: Category 4–6 Years Old

Children aged 4–6 complete one (1) loop in a fun and encouraging non-competitive run.

Prize Presentation 🏆

The day wraps up with the Prize Presentation, where we celebrate the achievements, participation and determination of all our young runners.

Junior Dash FAQ

The entry fee is B$8 per person for the 0–9 Years category and B$15 per person for the 10–11 Years and 12–13 Years categories.

Participants in the 0–9 Years category will receive a Race Bib and Finishing Medal. Participants in the 10–11 Years and 12–13 Years categories will receive a Race Bib, Event Bag and Finishing Medal.

Registration opens on 22 September 2026. Register early to secure your spot and avoid disappointment!

No. The 0–9 Years category is a non-competitive run focused on participation, enjoyment and building confidence in running.

Yes. The 10–11 Years and 12–13 Years categories will recognise the Top 3 Boys and Top 3 Girls.

Yes. Water stations will be positioned at suitable locations along or near the course, subject to the approved route and site arrangement.

The event will take place along the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium Concourse.
Course map: an oval loop around the stadium concourse with three lanes (green, red and blue) and a start/finish line at the bottom. Water stations or first aid at the top; parents or warm up area, partners or vendors, and registration, water stations or first aid along the bottom.

Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable sports attire and suitable running shoes. Please bring any personal necessities and arrive early to allow sufficient time for event-day preparations.

Yes. Parents or guardians are welcome to accompany and support their child during the run, subject to the following guidelines:
  • Children under 1 year old may take part in the non-competitive category.
  • Strollers or prams are allowed for children aged 0–3. Parents or guardians may also carry their child during the run if preferred.
  • One (1) parent/guardian may accompany one (1) child aged 0–6 during the run.
